cons: room stunk of smoke. supposed to be nonsmoking but was smoking. Room doors slam closed unless you hold them back. this design flaw was made clear by the fifty million people attending a room party next to our room. kids were screaming and running up and down the hall. adults were coming and going, loud and drunk and stoned. I could smell the smoke through the closed door! more yelling, running, door slamming and partying in the hall, and in several rooms, until I called the front desk at midnight. cops were called, the party dispatched. finally quieted down around one. All around a sucky experience.
I stayed the night a the Super 8 in Radcliff while visiting Ft. Knox. It is located right off of post. I was surprised at how clean the motel was. The rooms have nice flooring that looks like wood instead of the nasty carpet that other motels have. The shower was clean. The water was hot and had really good water pressure. The night staff and the staff the next morning were nice. The price is reasonable and they do give military discounts.
Check in was really easy, quick and friendly service. The room was a bit small, but it was perfect for myself and my fiance. The air conditioning and the heat both work very well. Complimentary soap, shampoo, and conditioner were provided. Breakfast was free, small selection, but can't complain. Staff was very friendly. They do have a guest laundry room to be able to do your own laundry. Hotel is well kept, as the owner lives there himself.
It is nice enough for the price, but would not recommend to anyone for accommodations. We had a lot of issues with water in the shower. The temperature repeatedly went from cold to hot the entire time. If you need a quick cheap stop, then this is it, otherwise I would look elsewhere.
We just stay overnight on our way back home. It was good for the price we paid. They had free lemon water and some snacks too. The breakfast was ok but needed to be refilled often. Free WiFi and breakfast included.
pros: the staff was very polite and friendly.
